Nancy Nelson
“My Child”
HMG Nashville CC Vol. 153
As with many musicians I started singing, playing guitar, and writing at a very young age. During my teen age years I was selected to perform throughout Europe, Beirut, Lebanon, and throughout Israel. “My Child” was written when I was in therapy for sexual abuse. I remember going into my closet, playing my guitar, and crying out in pain to God. He was there in my darkest hours, but many times I felt alone. “My Child” is about a childhood lost and a realization that Jesus was there in my hiding place. Over the years I have found complete freedom from shame and a love and respect for myself by allowing Jesus to meet me in the darkest places of my soul. Today, I am married to a wonderful Godly man. We have two beautiful children and live in a quaint country setting. Dreams do come true, healing can happen. My prayer is that you will find peace, love and healing from all of your pain.
